The EMPIRE Futures Trnava tournament is going to take place from 3rd to 10th August at the TC EMPIRE Trnava tennis centre. Like in the last year, there are interesting names in the main draw. On the acceptance list, you can find the names of Karol Beck and Ivo Klec of Slovakia.
Karol Beck is a former No. 36 player in the ATP rankings that he achieved in August 2005. He is going to play at the EMPIRE Futures Trnava tournament for the first time in his career. This season, he has two titles from the Futures tournament - Saint-Raphael (France) and Antalya (Turkey). He is a doubles winner, too, with Maximilian Neuchrist of Austria. The interesting thing is that Beck played the last match on clay (ATP & ITF circuit) more than a year ago at the Prostejov challenger (as of 20th July 2014).
EMPIRE Futures Trnava 2014 is going to start on 3rd August with singles qualifying which will be played by 64 players. Eight of them will advance to the main draw (32 players). Doubles main draw will be played by 16 pairs. The doubles final is scheduled on 9th August, the singles final on 10th August.
Kamil Capkovic from TC EMPIRE Trnava had been the last year’s winner in singles when he beat Adrian Sikora 7-6 (7), 7-5. The interesting thing about this tournament was that all four semifinalists were from Slovakia - Capkovic, Sikora, Mecir & Horansky. Doubles winners were from the Czech republic - Lukas Marsoun/Dominik Suc.
